How thrust is generated by a propeller I am confused. there are different theories.one says its just like a wing and generates lift the other says it pushes air back. how does it do that if high pressure is crated behind the wing and low pressure in front of it. Air moves from high pressure to low pressure which means it should push air front.

Answer:
No bro The propellor move the helicopter upward by pressure. if you will see the structure of propeller l, you will find that it is bend at top and flat at bollom thus when propeller rotates, high pressure is created below and low pressure above, due to which helicopter move up.
You are also saying that how can helicopters move ahead of air move from high concentration to low concentrations. yes you are right that air is pushed forward but there is an another force acting on the propeller, this pressure difference not only move air ahead but also move propellor ahead. now if the air is pushed forward and a reversed force come, but this reversed force is much less that the the force on propellor, thus it move forward
