To be a Responsible Voter

In a democratic system voting is one of the most important features. A group  of people can be democratically organized.  The group may be a group of friends, the teams on Brainly or people in a city, a state or a country. In order that the group is ruled with the noble principles of "for the people, of the people and by the people", we have a voting system for most of the important decisions affecting the community.

Further, to form a council of representatives, general elections are held periodically. Thus members of a group need to vote during elections or decision making. All the members of democratic organizations and the citizen of the country must understand the importance and responsibilities of voting.

Currently a person attaining the age of 18 years becomes a voter in the republic. It is  great privilege to have this fundamental right of  the citizen. It is necessary to understand also the duties and responsibilities the come along with the privilege.

A democratic organization is based on fair ruling of the members and fair utilization of its resources. It is possible that the executive body (government in case of a country/state) makes proposals and decisions with partiality. It may promise many dream-like-favours to members (people). It may ask for votes in an unfair manner and elect it or pass its resolutions.

As a member with a strong mind, character and foresight into good of the country, we must think of voting for the correct policy and correct person. Imagine that we vote for a dictator, lured by short term benefits and gifts, what will happen next ?  Perhaps we will suffer in future. Right ?

Follow the news regularly, only as much as needed and not wasting time. Discuss freely and fairly with fellow citizen. If it is dangerous to express publicly your opinion, then keep it confidential. Express your own opinion freely. We have all equal rights to do so.  We are respected for our opinion. I am sure we can make a good decision. So make a decision at the right time and stand for it.

Evaluate the candidate based on the qualifications, experience and character. Candidates or policies can not be 100% correct or good. At least choose the least harming or the best helping person (or policy). Often people evaluate the history of the candidate. For a policy they study the known pros and cons of it.

Making an honest decision is difficult in this world with a lot of influences. We need to be free of corruption, be patriotic and loyal to the organization (country). Media (social or printed or TV or radio) help us in making a good decision. In many countries we hear voices often that a wrong person had been elected or a right person is elected. Only after a few years, the effects show up.

Think of those groups and those countries which do not have voting rights. The members have to obey what the executive body decides always. Imagine the feelings of general public is not taken into account. There will be a lot of dissent.  People will live with a lot of grudge or pessimism.

We are fortunate in Brainly or in democratic countries that we have a fair and free voting system. Exercise your RIGHT. Understand your Responsibility in exercising the right. Using the Right in the Right way is the Right thing needed in today's free world.

Since India is a democratic country in which the decision to choose the government lies in the hands of its citizen. Hence, its the responsibility of the people of the country to cast their votes patiently and with integrity and chose the government effectively. The responsible voter is the one who participates in giving their vote. The voter should not fell into any party's influence and cast the vote blindly. It is his responsibility to think seriously and patiently and then decide who, to give their vote.
