To calculate the molar mass of a compound with multiple atoms, sum all the atomic mass of the constituent atoms.
For example, the molar mass of NaCl can be calculated for finding the atomic mass of sodium =22.99 g/mol
The atomic mass of chlorine =35.45 g/mol and combining them.

Hi there !!!

Molecular mass is the sum of all the atomic masses of all the atoms in a molecule of the substance.

To calculate the molecular mass , you just need to add the atomic masses of the atoms.

For example -

Q.1 Calculate the molecular mass of hydrogen chloride(HCl)

Ans :
Atomic mass of hydrogen = 1 u
atomic mass of chlorine = 35.5
So ,
Molecular mass = atomic mass of hydrogen + atomic mass of chlorine
= 1 + 35.5 = 36 .5 u

Q.2 Calculate the molecular mass of H₂SO₄

Ans :

Atomic mass of hydrogen(H) = 1 u
Atomic mass of sulphur (S) = 32 u
Atomic mass of Oxygen (O) = 16 u

Here there are 2 atoms of hydrogen (H₂)and 4 atoms of oxygen:

So,
Molecular mass = 2 × 1 + 32 + 4 × 16
= 98 u
