Using the starting length as L and the thickness and width you can calculate stress= load/area = N/mm2. Strain = deltaL/L (no units).

The area under the curve is stress xstrain. That gives the SI force unit of N/m2 which is pascals (Pa).

stress

the internal restoring force acting per unit area of a body is called stress

types of stress :

  • longitudinal
  • volumetric stress and
  • shearing stress

stress = restoringforce / area

strain

the ratio of change in confirmation to the original configuration is called strsin.

strain,= change in configuration/ orignal configuration.

I hope it help you ❤️
