To compare fractions the first thing we have to remember is that the fractions that we are comparing should have the same denominator

After making the denominators same check which fraction has the highest or lowest numerator

For eg:

when we are comparing 1/2, 3/4, 5/8 and 1/6

we have to make the denominators same

Here, we have to change the denominator into 24 which is the LCM of

2, 4, 8 and 6

1/2 = 1/2 * 12/12 = 12/24

3/4 = 3/4 * 6/6 = 18/24

5/8 = 5/8 * 3/3 = 15/24

1/6 = 1/6 * 4/4 = 4/24

Among 12/24, 18/24, 15/24, 4/24

18/24 > 15/24 > 12/24 > 4/24

3/4 > 5/8 > 1/2 > 1/6
