To construct a parallel line follow these steps :
(i) Draw a line with a scale to which you will draw another line parallel to it.
(ii) Take and mark a point outside anywhere .
(iii) Draw a perpendicular from that point to the line .
(iv) Now draw a perpendicular to that point taking the perpendicular of the original line as its base.
(v) And we are done and this can be verified too.

First we draw one vertical line and Mark three points equal in length of two points.
Now let's take a compass and take a distance of More than it's half length and Mark it on both sides of the line from all the three points as we do for Side bisector shown in the figure attached
Now we join the line of both bisector.
Hence This Line is Perpendicular to each other.
