How to convert acetylene to acetic acid

Explanation:

this needs to be done in two steps :

Hydrolysis of acetylene in presence of HgSO4 and H2SO4. This reaction will give acetaldehyde.
Carry out the oxidation of acetaldehyde formed with acidified potassium dichromate or potassium permanganate or CrO3. This will give acetic acid as final product.
