For example take 23.8 it can be written as 238/10 =154/5 if you divide 154 by 5 answer will be 23.8.

let for example 0.5265 we have to convert this into rational number then,

5265/10000 (for terminating number)

let for an example 0.52525252525..........(for non- terminating number)

x=0.5252....                                        (1)

10x=5.252....                                      (2)

100x=52.52....                                    (3) 

from equation (1) and (3)...

100x-x=52.5252.....-0.5252...

99x=52

x=52/99.
