no. of equivalent = weight of substance/ equivalent weight of substance
where equivalent weght = gram at. weght × valency factor
where equivalent weght = gram at. weght × valency factor

we can deduce the relationship between electrochemical equivalent and equivalent weight .
from Faraday's 1st law ,
W = z.q
dividing both sides by equivalent weight,
W/equivalent wt = z/equivalent wt .q
from 2nd law we know , that 96500 C librate 1 equivalent of matter .
e.g when, q = 96500 C , no of eq = 1
so,
1 = z/equivalent wt × 96500
z = equivalent wt/96500
hence,
equivalent wt = electrochemical weight × 96500
from Faraday's 1st law ,
W = z.q

W/equivalent wt = z/equivalent wt .q

hence,
equivalent wt = electrochemical weight × 96500
