By reaction with alkaline KMnO4 or acidified K2Cr2O7...

saquib5: bhai kaise pata chalega ki ye wala catylist use karna hoga
star81: Because these are oxidizing agents and this is a oxidation reaction.
saquib5: ye oxidation reaction hai tumhe kaise pata
Anonymous: catalysts are not used in this reaction ... oxidising agents are used

Hi !

Ethyl alcohol (ethanol) can be converted to acetic acid(ethanoic acid) , by oxidation reaction.

This reaction is done in the presence of oxidising agents like alkaline potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) or acidified Potassium dichromate(K₂Cr₂O₇)

                             alkaline KMnO₄
CH₃CH₂OH       --------------------------> CH₃COOH
                           acidified K₂Cr₂O₇

(Oxidation reaction - addition of oxygen {or removal of hydrogen} is known as oxidation reaction)

saquib5: how many types of reaction in organic chemistry
saquib5: in class 11 and 12
Anonymous: sorry , i have no clue about it , I'm in 10th
saquib5: ooooo
