The conversion of C6H6 (Benzene) from C3H8 (Propane) mixtures takes place under catalytice reforming.

Explaination:

The conversion process of propane to benzeze is as following:

  1. A mixture of hydrocarbon or propne having boiling ponit between 60-200 degree celsius is allow to mix with hydrogen gas and then expose to catalyst such as rhenium chloride or platinum chloride at 500-525 degree celsius and the pressure should be 8-50 atm.
  2. this reaction forms aliphatic hydrocarbon rings and hydrogen is lose to form aromatic hydrocarbon.
  3. The aromatic hydrocarbon undergoes reactiona mixture using extraction process and mixed with solvents such as diethylene glycol or sulfolane.
  4. benzene is then separated throughthe process of distillation from the aromatic products.
