we cannot directly convert sodium into washing soda but can convert one of its compound to washing soda
baking soda(NaHCO3) on heating gives washing soda(Na2CO3),carbon dioxide(CO2) and water(H2O)
by this way we can obtain washing soda that is sodium carbonate but it is not hydrated one
if we need hydrated sodium carbonate( also washing soda) then we need to make the washing soda obtained with water.
