take two scoops of rice, place them in my Hot Pot cooker, and cover with an inch of water. This is the same ratio of rice-to-water, as the one my electric cooker uses.

After an hour, I put a plastic spoon through the rice, and saw there was still some water visible on the bottom. At the hour and a half mark, the spoon revealed a thorough cooking, with no water remaining. The rice was fluffy and ready.

I did not move my Hot Pot cooker at all during the hour-and-a-half. Although not the perfect tool for baking, the HPC does many things, extremely well, especially soup and rice. Every day, I find ways to work with its unique design, and am glad to have this solar cooking tool. Several of my co-workers hike the local mountains, and the HPC, with its low profile fold-up, has generated great interest.
