1. Take a number.
2. calculate the prime factorization of a number.
3.Take all the exponents and add one to each of them.
4. Multiply the modified exponents together.
Ex: 1. Let the number be 36
2. prime factorization of 36
= 2 * (2 * 9)
= 2^2 * 3^2
3. Adding 1 to exponents we get, (2+1) * (2+1) = 3 * 3 = 9.
There are 9 factors for the number.
The factors of 36 are 1,2,3,4,6,9,12,18,36.
Hope this helps!
