1. Ethanol does not produce brisk effervescence when it reacts with Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate while ethanoic acid does produce a brisk effervescence due to evolution of CO2 gas.
CH3COOH + NaHCO3 --> CH3COONa + H2O + CO2
2. Ethanol does not react with NaOH while ethanoic acid reacts with NaOH to give salt and water.
CH3COOH + NaOH --> CH3COONa + H2O
3. Ethanol reacts with alkaline KMnO4 to give ethanoic acid while ethanoic acid does not react with alkaline KMnO4.

✨✔️✔️HERE IS YOUR ANSWER...
PROPERTIES OF ETHANOL ARE :-
✔️ Ethanol reacts with sodium to form sodium ethoxide and hydrogen.
✔️ It does not give brisk effervescence with NaHCO3.
✔️ Ethanol is neutral towards pH as it does not form any hydrogen ions.
PROPERTIES OF ETHANOIC ACID ARE:-
✔️ Ethanoic acid reacts with metals to form metal ethanoates and hydrogen.
✔️ It give brisk effervescence with NaHCO3.
✔️ It shows acidic behaviour although it is a weak acid.
