You can dilute a concentrated acid properly by adding concentrated acid to water slowly. The dissolution of an acid in water is highly exothermic process as acid has strong affinity for water. Large amount of heat is produced on mixing the acid with water.

1= take about 10ml water in beaker

2=add few drops of concentrated acid on the water

3=touch the bottom of the beaker it appears to be hot because heat is evolved
