Answer:-

Electron configuration :- The systematic distribution of electrons in various orbits or energy shells of an atom.

We know that

K shell ( n = 1) only accommodate only two electron. Than only the electron sen further proceed

L shell (n = 2), no. of electrons = 2 × 2^2 = 8

M shell ( n =3 ), no. of electrons = 2 × 3^2 = 18

N shell (n = 4), no. of electrons = 2 × 4^2 = 32

The outer most orbit of an atom cannot have more than 8 electron and the outermost shell can have at the most 18 elctrons.

Example :- Argon has 18 electron

K shell = 2 electron

L shell = 8 electron

M shell = 8 electron
