Draw a line using the scale AB.  Then draw the perpendicular bisector CO for the line segment AB.  This can be done by compass and scale.

Then use the standard procedure with compass and scale to trisect the angle AOC.  So then draw the lines OD and OE. They will be separated by 30 deg.

Now trisect again the angle DOC (of 60 deg).  Then we get the trisecting lines OF and OG. The angle between GO and OC is 20 deg.

Thus we have the angle  GOB = 110 deg.

110° = 90° + 20°

1. Draw a line segment PQ. With centre O, draw an arc of any length using your compass and label it as AB.

2. Keeping your compass wide open with the same length, draw an arc S on AB. Hence you will get 60° angle arc joining point S and O i.e. Angle SOB.

3. Bisect the 60° angle and name the point of intersection as J. Then join J to O which will become 30° arc i.e. Angle JOB.

4. Join the arc J to A, which will give Angle JAB which is equal to 20°.

5. Now draw a perpendicular line AD on line segment PQ from point A. Hence getting a right angle BAD.

6. Angle JAB = 20°

Angle BAD = 90°

So, angle JAD = 110°
