lim [(x+1)^5 -1]/x
x→0

if x→0 then( x+1)→1

lim [(x+1)^5 - 1^5]/[(x+1) -1]
(x+1)→1

=5

anushka29: sorry .but i am not able to understand
anushka29: if we put x=o ..then after solving we get...o/0...so we need to further evaluate that ...and i am not able to do that
mysticd: lim (x^n- a^n) /(x-a)
mysticd: x tends to a =n* a^(n-1) is the formula
mysticd: compare the problem with the formula
anushka29: ty so much....that really helped
mysticd: ur welcome
