Respiration is a vital process which occurs in all living organisms. It is a chemical process in which glucose is broken down for carrying of life processes. The chemical reaction which involves respiration is as follows:
C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂ -----------> 6CO₂ + 6H₂O + energy
The glucose is broken down into Carbon Dioxide, water and energy. The energy is converted into a chemical energy in the form of ATP. This ATP helps to provide more energy to living beings.
