You might be knowing that in an equation
if left side plus + then = right side - minus
so, in same way if left side square of some no. then= right side its√ square root.

1. (2s-1)² = 225 | rough work
=>2s - 1 = √225 | as you know 15 × 15 = 225
=> 2s-1 = 15 |
and to find s: 2s - 1= 15
2s = 15 + 1
s= 16 ÷ 2
= 8
similarly the next one..............
2. (5 + 7)² = 289 here, | rough work
| 5+7 = 12
