Heya !!!

factorise \:  \:  {x}^{2}  + 2xy - 99 {y}^{2}  \\  \\  {x }^{2}  + 9xy - 11xy - 99 {y}^{2}  \\  \\ x(x + 9y) - 11y(x + 9y) \\  \\ (x + 9y)(x - 11y)

Hope it helps.

Heya,

Factorise x^2 + 2xy - 99y^2 [Using splitting the middle term]

=> x^2 + 2xy - 99y^2

=> x^2 + 11xy - 9xy - 99y^2

=> x (x + 11y) -9y (x + 11y)

Hence,

The factors are (x - 9y) & (x + 11y)

Hope my answer helps you :)
