There are infinite rational numbers between two consecutive numbers.
Rational numbers are any number that can be expressed as p/q; where q is not equal to zero.
Hence using this logic you can find infinite number between 1 and 2 by adding them finding average of sum.
i.e. (1+2)/2 =3/2 a rational number ,
(1+3/2)/2 = 5/4 second rational number
and so on..
