There are two ways
1) If u know the length of the altitude u can apply this formula
1/2 * base * height
Height is the altitude.
2) If u don't know the height u can apply herons formula
s= a+b+c/2 ( a, b and c are lengths of the side)
Area = √( s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

To find the area of triangle...
1/2 x base x height = 1/2 bh
Using Heron's Formula,
Area of triangle = the whole root of s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)
Where, a, b & c are sides of triangle & s = (a+b+c)/2
