Explanation:

In series circuit to calculate the equivalent resistance the formula will be  

                   R(eq) = R1 + R2 + R3 ……

In parallel circuit to calculate the equivalent resistance the formula will be  

                   1/R(eq) = 1/R1 + 1/R2 +1/R3 ……

Now in ladder circuit start from the end of the circuit. Solve the circuit step by step using equation (i) and (ii). If you will begin solving from the start of the circuit the answer will be wrong.
