How to find GAM and GMM of elements ?

GAM- is the relative atomic mass of an element expressed in grams. Eg- GAM of Na is 23gms.
GMM- is the relative molecular of a substance expressed in grams. Eg- GMM of H2O is 18gms.

Just expessed both the term is grams 
There is a big confusion on mole concept that how 16 u atomic weight of oxygen cn be equal to 16 gm expressd in gram but,it is crt.So.don"t get confused by the fact.
