by using litmus paper , when u dip in that compound if it changes to blue then acidic or red means it is red

There are various confirmatiry tests which can confirm whether a substabce is acid or base.
If it gives Hydronium or H+ in the aqeous solution it is base.
If it gives OH- in aqeous solution it is base.
We can also calculate by pH paper if it has a pH value less than 7 it is acidic and if more than 7 it is basic.
