Let us take an example find the LCM of 12,16,18

Prime factors of 12=2*2*3

Prime factors of 16=2*2*2*2

Prime factors of 18=2*3*3

The factor ‘2’repeated 4 times[maximum number of times]

The factor ‘3’repeated 2 times[maximum number of times

LCM=2*2*2*2*3*3=16*9=144

By factorising each number,

12 = 2 * 2 * 3

15 = 3 * 5

21 = 3 * 7

LCM = 2² * 3 * 5 * 7

LCM = 420
