the chemical reaction takes place in a system. it's obvious that in a chemical reaction there'll be a change in mass . by *the law of conservation of mass* you can actually calculate the Change in mass before and after a chemical reaction.

*law of conservation of mass:*

mass of reactant = mass of product

(total mass of the entire reaction is conserved and hence there's no loss)
