How to find nucleotide sequence of a gene?

A NUCLEOTIDE OR PROTEIN SEQUENCE. Use the NCBI BLAST service to perform a similarity search. For a nucleotide sequence select the nucleotide blast service from the Basic BLAST section of the BLAST home page. For a protein sequence, select the blastx translating service.

Gene prediction. There are two types of gene prediction: Ab initio – this technique relies on signals within the DNA sequence. It is an automated process whereby a computer is given instructions for finding genes in the sequence and is then left to find them.
