For a grouped data median has a formula. i. e. l+n/2-cf whole by f*h
where l= lower class of the median class
n= no of frequencies
cf= cumulative frequency just above the median class
f= frequency of the median class
h= height of the class
For an un grouped data ,
firstly the data should be kept in ascending order then the middle most value is the median. ( this is for an odd number )
For an even number the nth value and the n+1 th values are taken and the formulas are n/2 and n+1 whole by 2.
