Answer:

You can find the square root of any number by subtracting it from consecutive odd numbers starting from one. the square root of the number is = to the number of steps involved.

For example:

we can find the square root of 16 by successive subtraction

  • 16-1 = 15
  • 15- 3 = 12
  • 12- 5 = 7
  • 7-7 = 0

Here four steps are involved therefore the square root of 16 is four.
