According to the Question;
Av₁ = 60 km in 1 hour.
Av₂ = 40 km in 1 hour.
Note : Here 'Av' is denoting average speed.
Total Distance travelled = 60 + 40
= 100 km.
Total Time taken = 1 + 1
= 2 hours.
Now,
Av = 100 / 2
Av = 50 km/h.
Therefore, average speed is 50 km/h.
