Heya friend,
To find direct distance,use a compass to measure the distance between the two objects on the map and then place it over a scale.
To find indirect distance,use a string and place it over the path of the distance and then mark the distance on the string,use the marked points to find the distance by placing the string over the scale provided below the map.
