perimeter of a rectangle = 2( length of rectangle + breadth of rectangle )

perimeter / 2 = length + breadth

length = (perimeter / 2) + breadth

Perimeter of rectangle = 2*(L+b), where L is length and B is breadth.

p=2*(l+b)

here let the perimeter be 12 and breadth be 3.

then,

p=2*(L+B)

or, 12 = 2*(L+3)

or, 12/2 = L + 3

or, 6 = L+3

or 6-3 = L

or, 3=L

hence L = 3

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 3.
