Mass number is given and the number of neutrons is given.
Subtract no. of neutrons from the mass number and you will get the atomic number.
Now consider, that atomic number is equal to the number of electrons. The number of electrons in the Valence shell will give you the group number and the number of shells will give you the period number.
Consider Sodium whose mass number is 23 and no. of neutrons is 12. Hence, atomic number is 23 - 12 = 11.
Electronic configuration is 2,8,1
Since we have three shells, Sodium belongs to the third period. Since the no. of valence electrons is 1, sodium is present in group 1.
