How to find the valency of an element by using its electronic configuration ???????? Send me the details fast please!!!!!!!!!!!☺

valency means combining capacity of an atom.

At first write the electronic configuration of the element then see that how many atoms did the last shell of that element contain. If the accommodation of atom in the last shell is less than 5 then that will be the valency of the element and if more than 5 or 5 then you have to substract it from 8 as to complete octate state so after subtracting the resulting value will be your valency
