The valency of an atom is equal to the number of electrons in the outer shell if that number is four or less. Otherwise, the valency is equal to eight minus the number of electrons in the outer shell.

Answer:

Last shell of any atomic element ...we can find valency

Explanation:

Suppose Na (Sodium) Atomic number is 11. 2,8,1

K=2

L=8

M=1

therefore valency is 1

shrawan85: why 2,8,1
ChandraKishor22: because the atomic number of Na (Sodium ) is 11 ... that's why 2,8,1
ChandraKishor22: if it is not clear then please ask me again i will explain
shrawan85: it is not clear
