How to find whether central atom ina compound is sp3 or sp2 hybridised?

first u must know all the geometries for respective hybridisation.

u should note the no. of sigma bonds in the structure.

u can apply sterric rule
and 1/2 formula rule.
note: the a above rules are applicable only in certain cases. Most of the cases I use these rules.
