Based on the article, if it's "la" it's feminin but if it is "le" it's masculine

The gender of nouns are not always very easy to find. But most of the times French nouns that end with an 'e' stands for feminine.
These are a few endings for feminine nouns:
Ure
Sion
Tion
Ence
Ance
Te
Ette

You can know that they are masculine if they end with the falling endings
Age
Ment

However there are a few exceptions such as page, plage, cage , rage
