Answer:

Well prepation for TOEFL in 20 days is a nice compact period of time. I would suggest you to follow these steps.

Just complete till step 4 within the first 10 days and then do the other steps by next 9 days. Keep the last day free and don't take any test and relax yourself for the test.

TOEFL test is actually quite an easy test if you are generally good in English. Most of the test takers score atleast an average of 100 out of 120 in the first attempt.

Preparation:

1. First step I would suggest you to buy the official TOEFL GUIDE and the CD. Now to start by reading the rules and tests pattern of the test.

2. Take a diagnostic full test from the cd. This means that without any prepation, just read the rules and go for the test. After taking the test assess yourself and you will know how much you scored and where you stand out of 120. Note down your weak points too.

3. If you scored below 80 or 70 then you are going to need vigorous practice and learning. If you score more than 80+ then you are on a safe start. Don't worry, no matter what you score on the first attempt, the way you have to prepare is the same.

4. FINISH THE OFFICIAL TOEFL GUIDE BOOK COMPLETELY. I stress on this because, the TOEFL guide gives you the compete prepation. Do this step as fast as possible.

5. Also do vocabulary excercises from books like Norman Lewis “word power made easy”. Doing this book will make your vocabulary rich. Don't just mug up these words, use them in normal life to actually increase your English proficiency.

6. Do small drills and excercises from the TOEFL guide and other resources.

7. Read newspaper daily from the day 1 of your prep, this is good for your reading, writing and speaking section.

8. I would suggest you to finish of the guide in 2 weeks and then take multiple Practice FULL length tests.

9. While taking the tests, manage time and find your errors and correct them.

I feel once you do all these steps you will automatically see yourself climbing up with scores. Basically it's quite an easy test compared to GRE, SAT, etc. Just that it's 4hrs long ! So prep well and see videos on YouTube or other resources for speaking section and ask your English teacher or friends or family to assess it. The day before the exams DO NOT do any practice tests. Just relax and revise the concepts and take a good sleep.

Hope this helps !
