Ascending Order= 2,4,4,6,6,8

no of observations= 6 i.e even

median= (n/2) th observation

            = 6/2 th observation= 3rd observation

take the third and the fourth observations [ (n+1/2) th observation] 4 and 6

Mean= sum of observations/ number of observations

         = 6+4/2

         = 10/2

          = 5

The median is 5
