We know that rectangle is 2 Dimensional structure with four sides( quadrilateral ), its opposite sides are equal.

Perimeter of any quadrilateral = sum of all sides

Note : Length is the longest side( boundary ) of the rectangle. Breadth( or width ) is the shortest side( boundary ) of the rectangle.

∴ Perimeter of rectangle = length + ( opposite side of length ) + breadth + ( opposite side of length

Opposite sides of rectangle are equal.

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle = length + ( side which equal to length ) + breadth + ( side which equal to breadth )

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle = length + length + breadth + breadth

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle = 2 length + 2 breadth

⇒ Perimeter of rectangle = 2( length + breadth )

Therefore, perimeter of any rectangle = 2( its length + its breadth )

Now, you can get the perimeter of the rectangle by applying the formula 2( length + breadth ).

shantanu140: now I understand
abhi569: ok :-)
shantanu140: what is full form of ok
abhi569: Okay = ok , nothing else
abhi569: "okay" is means saying "i agree" indirectly
