The α carbon in organic molecules refers to the first carbon atom that attaches to a functional group, such as a carbonyl.

hydrogen is a hydrogen atom on an alpha carbon in an organic molecule; a hydrogen atom on a beta carbon is a beta hydrogen, and so on (α, ß, γ, δ…).

Alpha hydrogen are those hydrogens which are attached to the alpha carbon abd alpha carbon is that carbon which is attached to the functional group.

hope this helps you ☺️
