What is the simplest way to remember/learn the difference between AM and PM?

The simplest way to remember them is that one of the two refers to a morning while the other one is an afternoon.
So simply take the first part and you have:
A Morning = A M
The other part now comes naturally. If the morning is AM, the morning is till what time? Midday of course. So when does the afternoon start? After midday, no? So after midday becomes:
Past Midday = P M
Also once you have memorized AM and PM but you're still confused which is which, again the simplest method is alphabetical. “A” comes before “P” so “AM” comes first, then “PM”. Therefore AM must be morning while PM is therefore afternoon.
