how to identify figure of speech bw simile and metaphor??

metaphor means comparison.in metaphorical poem/speech/story the main topic or idea of author is not directly represented it's compared with someone other things and then the main idea or theme is displayed.
•in simile there is also comparison but there the topic is compared directly by using words "as " and "like ".

main difference between metaphor and simile is that in simile word "as" and "like"is used whereas these words are never used in metaphor .
