METALS and NON-METALS can be identified by some properties like.,
Sonorous , Ductility, Malleability, Lustrous, Tendency of gaining or loosing electrons... (By physical and chemical properties)....
Metals are sonorous, ductile, malleable, lustre, have a tendency to loose electrons...
Non-metals are not sonorous, ductile, malleable, lustre and they have tendency to gain electrons.....

we can identify something is metal or non metal on the basis of their chemical and physical properties.
for example
》》metals are those who can have ductility, malleability, sonorous in nature , lustrous
on the other hand non metals do not have the such properties ..
》》 if we simply want to identify who is metal or not so we can do hammer on them the substance who produce ringing sounds are metal or who do not produce that sound are non metal ....
