To learn all the rules of Direct and Indirect Speech and Active and Passive Voice, you need to follow these things -
1. Use a good book of English Grammar which provides all the material in a concise manner. I prefer 'A Comprehensive Grammar of Current English' book by Joseph•Myall•Biswas.
2. Do not 'learn' the rules but understand them. Cramming the rules would not help but understanding the use will surely help.
3. You should practice a lot of sentences then only you can master the rules because 'Practice makes a man perfect'.
4. When you practice more and more sentences, rules will automatically be transferred permanently in your brain. Then you'll not even know that your sentences are correct without knowing about the rules. But your sentences will always be correct.
I did in this manner and now I master speech and voice change. And I hope you will also not face any problem in doing that. You will also be an expert then .
