The rule for making negative sentences is:
RULE:
With Vowel-
# N' + verb + pas
Example-
Je n’aime pas le café
Je n’ai pas mangé
Without Vowel-
# Ne + verb + pas
Example:
Tu ne veux pas manger ?
Vous ne venez pas demain.

and if there is a verb 'etre' we will not change the article
