Step-by-step explanation:

1.Take a number line

2.On point 1 draw a perpendicular

3.Take the length of zero using compass and draw an arc on the perpendicular

4.Join the arc and the point zero.

5.You will get a isoceles right-angled triangle.

6. Take the length of the hypotenisis using compass and zero as center draw an arc on the number line.

7. Mark it. It's your √2.

1. To obtain root 5 you should repeat the root 2 process and take the point(√2) as the perpendicular and do the same as we did for √2. You will get √3. Do like that another two times to get √5.
